I received a bachelor's degree in early childhood education from Mercer University, a master's degree in teaching & learning with a concentration in literacy from Nova Southeastern University, a specialist degree in teaching & learning from Georgia State University & a PhD in teaching & learning with a concentration in language & literacy.

I taught for thirteen years in the private sector before moving into the public sector.  This is my twelfth year teaching in the public school arena.  In that time, I have taught 2nd-5th grades as well as 9th and 11th grade.

I teach 5th grade reading and writing here at Sharp Creek.  I have taught for twelve years in the public school sector and thirteen years in the private sector.  I have been married to my husband, Randy for 28 years, and we have a grown daughter named Lindsay.  We live in Douglas County & love to visit the North Georgia Mountains as often as we can.  As a matter of fact, we were long-time home owners of a cabin in Blue Ridge, but recently decided to sell & just be visitors from time to time.  My favorite pastime is reading classic or children's literature.  I also love to write when I have the time:)  I am excited to work with the students and families here at Sharp Creek Elementary & look forward to making it a great year of growing as readers & writers!
