Education

I completed my undergraduate in Early Childhood Education at the University of West Georgia in May of 2007. In that same month, I decided to persue my MBA in Early Childhood Education at the University of West Georgia through the Teaching Fellows Program. The Fellow's programs was very intense, as I began my first year of teaching at Sharp Creek Elementary School in August of 2007. The year flew by, and I completed a successful first year of teaching, and graduated with my Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. My future plans are to pursue a specialist degree in Educational Leadership, but I have put my school on hold to raise my 3 beautiful children.

Experience

My first year at Sharp Creek Elementary was spent in a Kindergarten classroom as a teaching fellow. Upon completion of the MBA program, I applied for a full time teaching position with Carroll County Schools. The principal, Mrs. Deaidra Wilson, offered me a full time teaching position in Pre-K, where I remained for 4 years.Although I loved my pre-k babies, I felt that it was time to expand my teaching experience and moved to a first grade position at Sharp Creek. I spent the next 5 years as a first grade teacher, and countless hours were spent teaching so many children how to read and write. After the 5 year span in first grade, I felt it was time for a change of scenery, so I took over a lead Kindergarten position. I have been in Kindergarten since, and I love every minute of it! I currently serve as our Kindergarten Team Leader at Sharp Creek Elementary.
