Bio

I love music and teaching music! I have been a elementary music teacher for 13 years!  I have been at SCE for the last 6 years.  I got married 2 years ago to my loving husband, Alan. Shortly after we got married, we moved to Hiram, GA where we currently reside with our 4 dogs: Libby, Jose', Buck and Bruiser, and our cat, Potter.  I teach colorguard/marching band at South Paulding High School in Paulding County.  I attended JSU where I obtained my music degree in voice and music education. I was a member of the Marching Southerners where I played piccolo, mellaphone, and did colorguard. We performed all over the East Coast including marching in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York! My 5 seconds of fame: a clip of me/Southerners from the parade was used in an episode of "Friends" tv show!  I was also a member of JSU's Center Stage Winterguard.  I was in A Cappella Choir and Chamber Singers where I was Alto section leader and Student Conductor. I was lucky enough to tour Europe twice while in Chamber Singers.  Music has carried me all over the world! I have worked with several high school bands and judged several band competitions all over the state of Georgia and Alabama.

Here at SCE I am the music teacher, SC Singers Director, Exploratory Team Leader, News Crew Sponsor and Financial Coordinator Carroll County Honor Chorus.  I want to give every student a better understanding if not a love for music!  From singing & dancing to playing instruments & performing, I want to give my students a variety of ways to express themselves through music!
