Dear Parent/Guardian:

Carroll County Schools has received the 2014-2015 Georgia Milestone Assessment results. After reviewing the scores, Carroll County students performed at the level we anticipated, and our students’ achievement levels aligned with students across the state.  These results may show a lower level of student proficiency than you are used to seeing; however, we must remember that the Georgia Milestones scores and CRCT scores are not directly comparable. Georgia Milestones and the CRCT are two different tests, with different expectations set for student achievement. Since the expectations set by the Georgia Milestones system are higher, it was expected that the percentage of students considered proficient would initially be lower.

Attached you will find your child’s Individual Student Report. The report summarizes your student’s performance on the Georgia Milestones Assessment. The first page provides an overview of all four content areas. Additional pages provide more details about your student’s performance in each content area. Please take time to review your student’s score report thoroughly.  Listed below are key components of the report:

  • Your student’s achievement level in each subject area
  • Description of the four achievement levels
  • Individual Subject Reports
    • Achievement Level and Performance in Domain Category
    • Comparison to School, System, and State
    • Comparison to National Percentile
    • Student Lexile Information (English Language Arts only)
